Cherry doesn't have anything but IP. if you are desperate for feel, then buying gaterons and lubing them is a better deal than whatever they've got going to for twice the price.
The gold contacts are definitely a meme in my mind too, but let's see the reviews & vendor prices. I don't frequently build keyboards, and the ones I build are a few hundred euros anyway. If I add another 20 bucks for somewhat of a better experience, fuck it why not?

tbh, i think we reached a point where there are so many switches available, that cherrys are almost the worst price/performance product imho.

I'd actually like to try their new ergo clears because actual ergo clears or the switches that were very similar (Zeal V1) tend to be my favorites.
