Is this flex or a button? The name active makes it sound like a button the drivers can press?

DRS is being replaced by two systems:

  • Push-to-pass hybrid boost
  • X-Mode, where drivers can open front and rear flaps to boost straight line speed.

Isn't this just a double DRS then?

Mostly, but everyone will be able to use it so the car being chased will also have the new DRS. I don’t think they’ve announced if there will be track sections where it’s allowed / not allowed.

Yeah I think so. The push to pass system is the DRS replacement whereas the active aero is now just a part of the cars.

User selectable from what I have read.
