Here's the thing. Paying for college or trade school actually helps the US better compete in a global market (since many other countries pay for those things - we are at a real economic disadvantage). For a country so into capitalism, we really aren't leaning into it very well.
Republican capitalism is just thinly veiled corporate socialism for industry leaders. Expecting it to make sense in a capitalist sense is to pretend they're libertarians. Even the libertarian congressmen are not libertarians.
Late stage capitalism seems to be largely defined as the results of concentrated money without touching much on the oligarchs' role within government. I'd describe what we're going through as a crumbling socialization structure for the interests of the masses with a stark growing socialization structure for the interest of the richest few. Late Capitalism is like Bioshock, whereas accelerated oligarchy is more like Arcane, with the police participating in the class rule rather than private forces.
Trump making a terrible financial decision is pretty much his thing. He's run multiple businesses including casinos into the ground. The country is circling the drain.
OMG the casino thing is bonkers! As a business leader, I'm shocked at the incompetence. The only thing more embarrassing would be to run a drug ring into the ground.
America is not capitalist, it's an oligarchy that masquerades under capitalisms flag. Capitalism would ensure a healthy system for people to profit, an oligarchy steals from the lessers to pay the Lord.
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
I have been defaulted for several years. I sent in my expenses and income to the Dept of Ed in August and they were supposed to get back with me with a monthly rate I could start paying. I never heard back from them.
The fuck do I do? I don't want to get garnished, and all that happens when I call them and wait through 8 minutes of useless automated voice prompts they just tell me that I need to wait for them to respond by mail.
How else are they going to say tariffs brought a ton of money unless they take it from somewhere and give it their own categorization of 'Tariff funds'

Oh, I know. But we should at least call them on their bullshit from time to time. A real capitalist would pay for higher education.

No, a real capitalist owns slaves and extracts all their value for himself.
Which is what they are now doing to us. The final squeeze.
It’s sick and sad that they don’t understand what the endgame will actually look like.

There are only two ways I can think of to lose money running a casino - baffling levels of incompetence or money laundering.

Capitalism is when most people don't know the definition of capitalism:
Which sounds a lot like oligarchy with a profit motive.

Isn’t this because they flat-out canceled the income contingent repayment plans? I don’t believe this program exists anymore.

Max is 15% of post tax wages which is a cheaper option for many people.
