@PugJesus Always a matter of perspective. In Japan bright skin apparently is very desirable. 🤔

It comes and goes. A class distinction at times, funny enough - pale skin traditionally meant you didn't have to work for a living (or at least could work inside), but as that became less of a class distinction in the 1920s, the leisure time to vacation and tan became perceived as more desirable.

My youngest child is pale skinned, so fair and doesn't easily burn nor tan. Put that lady in a black swimsuit, not a red one. The very pale look so good in black suits. My ghostly one bleaches her hair out so blonde too now, it's honestly a really good look.
