Honestly, can someone tell me what the point of a 2 day blackout is? Like if you’re really all about getting the point across, why would you not just go balls to the wall and go dark indefinitely until change? All a 2-day blackout is (in my opinion) is just virtue signaling to say we oppose what you’re doing but ultimately I’m too addicted to ever quit

Inertia means most people don't *want* to move elsewhere. A longer blackout would just result in people scattering all over the place.

A short blackout keeps the community together, while also showing reddit what could happen if they don't change their mind.

So, less "virtue signalling"🙄and more of a two-fingered salute.

Don't know how things work on lemmy, but you should be able to scrape all the content from /r/gunners with a webscraper that runs on a cronjob

@I_am_the_grass thanks for checking. FYI, in your blue "you are not logged in" box, it says enter "!gunners@lemmy.world" into the mastodon search box. That does not seem to work.

Removing the exclamation mark does, as does entering: https://lemmy.world/c/gunners
