Our old master taught us not to build a portal to the dimension of untold horrors. He said, "are you nuts? There's nothing but untold horrors in there!"

But then we realized that if we didn't build a portal to the dimension of untold horrors, that our competitors might build a portal to the dimension of untold horrors before we could. Therefore we built a portal to the dimension of untold horrors.

Therefore we built a portal to the dimension of untold horrors.

And we only found a dimension full of nothing but untold horrors there.

This is my Cleric in my current D&D campaign. Demon gets summoned through a portal, kills the summoner instead of the party, asks if anyone wants to have a look. Well I'm playing a Knowledge Cleric, I need to know what's on the other side of that portal. Sure enough, dimension of untold horrors, but now I know.

Is this why I randomly got hit with a rock the other day?

Reminded me of the following work ineffably magnificent work: Portal to a New World
Though, it's also more... hopeful...
