Family guy funny moments are back on the menu for 2026

ADTJ@feddit.uk · 42 pts · 223d (7 replies)

When did they start adding funny moments to Family Guy?

Passerby6497@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 223d (3 replies)

After season 2 or 3, they ran out of funny scenes to add, so they just kept adding stupid shit like yet another over long chicken fight or the 50th 2 min hurt knee gag.

Because if it's barely funny once, keep doing it until it can never be funny again.

they really wanted a sideshow bob rake gag and couldn't get one to land, could they

Passerby6497@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 223d (1 reply)

Part of it was (imo) a lack of good comedic timing to the point of aiming for antihumor.

The rake gag was funny because it was usually just a 5-10 second gag in scene and they moved on. It wasn't some non sequitur that has little to no relation to the contents of the scene.

the rake gag was also funny because kelsey grammar was only paid for the first meep, then they doubled it up on the soundtrack. cheap studio bastards.

Season 1. They started phasing them out around Season 4 though, and they were completely gone by the time Blue Harvest premiered.

-san is a suffix used in Japanese that denotes respect for someone. I’ve see it translated to English often as Mr. or Mrs., but we don’t have the same honorific system and in many cases those don’t make sense or sound right, so they’ll just keep it as Neptr-san in the translation.

thethunderwolf@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 15 pts · 223d

Petasan sounds like Peter-san

The cartoon character is Peter Griffin from Family Guy, who is quite prominent in meme culture, and in the picture they are wearing a martial arts outfit and doing something martial arts related and seem to be in a Japanese-styled room judging by that window

"san" is a suffix in Japanese, it's an honorific kinda like Mr/Ms but not quite because Japanese is complicated
