Isn't this slap a Gundam reference?
Also, this fourth-wall break killed me:
I love adaptations that go above and beyond, providing value-add instead of making it just a one-one translation of the story to another medium. Kaguya-sama is definitely one such anime.
Edit: Kaguya never stopped calling Miyuki president 🗿
Also, Papa Shirogane is still one of my personal favourite characters from this show. He never fail to make me laugh whenever he appears on screen.
Banner: for once, the euphemism is on-point

It absolutely is! I was laughing my ass off at this btw. But that's not the first Gundam reference in Kaguya-sama: Love is War, nor is it the last. As far as I can tell the last one is the V-tuber plan notebook Papa Shirogane has.
As for the first, I think it's when Karen sees Shirogane and Kaguya kissing at the end of season 3. I'm not certain though; it's possible there's another one even earlier.

That was a great way to start the year!
I had forgotten how much I love this anime. I still haven't finished the manga (I'll finish it someday) but it was nice to see some recognizable scenes animated, as well as some new scenes.
I loved how Kaguya went on a plane to another continent just to say goodbye to Miyuki, all while screaming "WAAAH!".

I'm glad they adapted most of my favorite chapters, but they didn't quite get all of them. I wouldn't mind the show ending this way if we got 3 or 4 episodes instead of just 2. At least what we did get was top-quality. I enjoyed myself immensely beginning-to-end.
Well, I guess saying "the show ending this way" is an exaggeration. I almost forgot there was a movie teased at the end.

Hi @wjs018@ani.social @rikka@ani.social, I think it's best to merge the discussion threads for this anime too.
