Unrelated but I remember Americans always claiming they needed their firearms for tyrannical governments or something along those lines?
There have been at least two assassination attempts by lone gunmen. That's the 2nd amendment in action. So far they haven't been successful, but a couple have tried.
It's not worked yet. But like, this is the supposed "edge" that he 2nd amendment gives us. Right here. 2 people have tried it. More will surely try, with enough time.
