Problem is most people don't realize they are surrounded by authoritarian systems that they engage in and support. And they don't like change, so even though they may prefer liberty in an abstract sense, they end up supporting tyranny instead.
You are asking this to people partaking in niche descentralized platforms, of course libertarianism will be the most popular opinion. This doesn't reflect the general population.
