Anyone who watched the video knows that.

homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 33 pts · 213d (5 replies)

Exactly. Fuck you NBC News.

MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world · -9 pts · 213d (4 replies)

For agreeing with you?

Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 33 pts · 213d (3 replies)

For cowardly framing the obvious objective reality as a contestable claim.

straight up censorship

*consumable claim?

Here's a shower thought I had over how stupid this situation is: Had she actually tried to run him over, there is a chance she would still be alive today.

Here's another shower thought: Some say that if the ICE agent feared for his life his actions are justified. But nobody seem to care that the soccer mom who was just coming back from dropping her kid to school was also fearing for her life when some ICE officer aggressively tried to open her car door. And also why should we tolerate ICE agents carelessly creating avoidable situations where innocent bystanders fear for their life to begin with? Sometimes those situations are downright created purposefully to give themselves a pretext power trip over people, even up to shooting someone and it looks like it could be the case there.

Yes, it's all bad faith arguments to try to have an appearance of legitimacy. The simple truth is they think they have every right to murder anyone who doesn't support them.

edible_funk@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 213d (4 replies)

So far they're right.

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 26 pts · 213d (3 replies)

No, they're not. They can get away with it, yes, but they absolutely have no right.

almost1337@lemmy.zip · 8 pts · 213d (1 reply)

For all practical matters, the rule of law in the US has been suspended in favor of the rule of force.

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 212d

Absolutely. But it's illegitimate nonetheless. They have neither the legal nor moral right to murder people, only the means to get away with it.

melsaskca@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 212d

Being right about something and having rights are two different things.

anon_8675309@lemmy.world · 29 pts · 213d

After seeing HIS video, I think he did it because her wife pissed him off.

Not blaming the wife at all so don’t misunderstand.

dan1101@lemmy.world · 25 pts · 213d

Also, Republicans have advocated that drivers should be able to run over protestors blocking roads. Even if she did hit him, I think running over a masked armed man in the road should be even more justifiable than running over protestors.

Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 213d

You're absolutely spot on at all points and apparently take quite long showers 😁

UnspecificGravity@piefed.social · 79 pts · 213d (28 replies)

New video that appears to have been captured by the shooter himself (who can be seen holding a phone in other videos when he shoots her):

https://www.instagram.com/reels/DTTLLYekf-W/

This is unambiguous murder.

ThePantser@sh.itjust.works · 59 pts · 213d (13 replies)

Omg, her last words were "I'm not mad at you"

He literally walked in front of her car, basic training would have told him that is the worst thing you can do when attempting to deal with a driver. Someone needs to take these fucks out.

snekerpimp@lemmy.world · 34 pts · 213d (9 replies)

You think any of these brown shirt chucklefucks have ANY training? Other than “this is the killy end of the gun.”

bus_factor@lemmy.world · 22 pts · 213d (4 replies)

That guy had worked for ICE for 10 years, should be enough to work some stuff out on his own.

Fondots@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 213d (2 replies)

De got dragged by a car he tried to break into to arrest someone less than a year ago, if that didn't teach them I don't think anything will.

lividweasel@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 213d

Learning from history? Not exactly on-brand with these guys.

Maeve@kbin.earth · 1 pts · 213d

I think he learned, just not what decency would have informed him.

I'd be shocked if they could claim fifth-grade English on their résumé.

Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 213d

That is sadly only slightly under the median level of adult reading literacy

homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 213d

Pretty sure that’s not in the training either. They just hope they’ll figure that out and so far so good.

frongt@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 213d

I don't think they even get that

Bob_Robertson_IX@discuss.tchncs.de · 8 pts · 213d (1 reply)

He literally walked in front of her car, basic training would have told him that is the worst thing you can do when attempting to deal with a driver.

He's apparently been hit by a car before, so he seems incapable of learning a lesson. Clearly ICE isn't getting the brightest and best.

Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip · 8 pts · 213d

He was previously dragged by a car during a similar scenario like a month ago. That's how he was identified. He's clearly doing it on purpose just to give himself cover/"justification" to do this. And someone let this Dipshit swap out his Taser for a gun.

boogiebored@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 213d (3 replies)

In the BBC video you can see how he shows her a phone, then suddenly it’s a gun.

Also after killing her does he say “fucking bitch”?

UnspecificGravity@piefed.social · 14 pts · 213d

Yes he does.

anon_8675309@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 213d

I think he may have been calling the wife that. She was interacting with him outside the car and I think it pissed him off so he killed the driver to get at the wife.

homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 213d

No it’s the gestapo fuck who grabbed her door handle to try and drag her out and beat her.

BrundleFly2077@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 213d (9 replies)

ptu@sopuli.xyz · -3 pts · 213d (3 replies)

Anyone know why she was parked sideways in the middle of the road?

monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 213d

Apparently trying to do a U-turn. That’s what I’ve heard. Seems plausible.

Zoot@reddthat.com · 6 pts · 213d (1 reply)

She was previously parallel to the curb until asked to move, she moves sideways into the street and then ice begins to yell at her, and the video begins.

ptu@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 212d

Thanks, I find it relates to the case but understand why people downvote the question. Obviously it was wrong to execute her on the spot like that.

Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 213d

If you're on a phone, there's a "X" hidden way up in the top right. I don't have an account and I was able to watch it. They just make it seem like you have to sign up or get the app first.

ThePantser@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 213d

You can, gotta hit hidden X, top right

unmagical@lemmy.ml · 58 pts · 213d (1 reply)

You mean the guy so not in the path of the vehicle that he felt comfortable promoting the vehicle to "uncontrolled" before casually walking away as if nothing had happened wasn't actually run over?

Whoever would have fucking guessed?

pageflight@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 213d

In so much danger he didn't even drop his phone.

crystalmerchant@lemmy.world · 30 pts · 213d

...that's because he wasn't run over

skozzii@lemmy.ca · 27 pts · 213d (3 replies)

I don't understand why his gun was drawn with safety off in the first place... he was looking to kill someone.

tocopherol@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 9 pts · 213d

And he made sure to record the entire time, I can't tell if he recorded her after but when he could be seen walking away after checking her body his camera was still open on his phone, I wouldn't doubt he was itching to get footage of himself murdering a woman.

Entertainmeonly@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 212d (1 reply)

Do guns still have safties? Was that ever a real thing? I've only fired like 8 guns but not a single had a "safety".

Sorry, what i mean by this is, if you draw and itvis likely ready to fire. Dawing a weapon to then have to pull or push a switch is not a thing I've witnessed.

lightnsfw@reddthat.com · 1 pts · 212d

Some do. IDK about the one he was using though.

Bonesince1997@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 213d

Wouldn't there be injuries if he was run over? Also, how can you be on your phone and doing this job, which could see a gun in your other hand?! That should count against him.

Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip · 7 pts · 213d

The objective fact says that. Stop acting like these appeals to authority are valid arguments. All that does is allow propagandists to argue the other side and claim to be an authority.

superkong47@lemmy.zip · 7 pts · 213d
