Between the ramp and your wall you should build a pit for the zeds to fall into and take damage. Spinning blades and spikes.
That is what my friends and I do.

Just found put this sub exists. I have been playing for a few years now. I dont get to bothered by the changes and go with the flow. I really love the base building in this game.
