It feels pretty horrible to love someone a lot,then be ignored for months. But, the way to go about it is to tell someone you're unavailable for a bit.
Tig gives their Twitter account to others to run a lot of the time. it's often someone else writing jokes or funny tweets on it (or at least it used to be, I quit Twitter years ago)

(If it helps they freely refer to themselves being female in the before times, and they’re gender fluid now)
