Hello!
Two years ago, I published a post explaining how to hide the desktop preview banner (https://lemmy.ml/post/8802064). Since then, that flag has been renamed, so I think it's a good time to remind everyone of its existence.
Currently, the setting flag has been renamed from HideDesktopPreviewBanner=true to ShowDesktopPreviewBanner=false in the ~/.config/kdeglobals file, under the [General] section.
~/.config/kdeglobals
[General]
ShowDesktopPreviewBanner=false
Have a good day!

It is a banner to remind you that you are on the beta. Once KDE 6.6 becomes GA then it is removed. It is mostly used as a support tool so that it is obvious to people trying to help online that you are running a beta
