error on game load: 0x60001 Catalogue file not found

I'm running Hunt Showdown on Linux with proton EAC and Proton 8.0-2. I can't seem to find anything about this bug on google. Anybody got an idea?

What distro are you on? I read yesterday someone on Arch was having problems now when previously it worked. I'm on Fedora 38 and Proton experimental and things still work. The only problem I have is that since the new Steam UI was released I can't use the Steam Overlay because it crashes https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/9586 thats also affecting CSGO too.

I'm on voidlinux. I'll try to give it a whirl without the overlay.

Hmmm... Have you tried verifying the game files?

yes. Of both the eac package and the game itself. No luck.

Very strange... I wish you the best with it, though I'd post on the GitHub for Hunt Showdown proton instead of here, you're probably more likely to get help there/encounter someone with the same issue

I've been using endeavourOS and playing hunt without issue for several months. Have you tried using the flatpak version of steam? I know it resolved some gcc issues for me a while back.
