Unfortunately, no. Mastodon makes no distinction between posts and comments (it is all a Note), so there is no way for a Lemmy server to notify a mastodon server only for posts.

Welcome to the fediverse! I personally recommend creating accounts on every server and software you are interested in and switching between them for the best experience. Federation works across softwares but it's always clunky

You should create a Lemmy, PieFed, or Mbin account. You don't need all 3, just 1 of them is enough
