Now I ain't a Luddite, but it's true that evolution has made our bodies expect a very particular type of food. And that food that our bodies have co-evolved around for a few dozen generations is definitely NOT something that can be grown in a lab.
I've heard that the ground stuff is actually pretty indisguisable from the low grade stuff most people get. I doubt we'll be able to grow a convincing steak anytime soon but lab grown hamburgers are probably only a few years out.
