[JAMM Podcast - Casual Chat] Why Men Are So Sad

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GpR2de7qlg

This podcast is a group of young black men talking about men's mental health.

If you're not into black culture and stuff or find it uninteresting than this may not be for you. I think it's great and I think anyone can take something from this. They're all being open and talking about feelings and the male loneliness epidemic.

On the surface this sounds awesome actually. Male loneliness is definitely a contributor to the rise of Trump and fascism in general. I can somewhat relate too. Even though I'm married I have no good friends, just old ones hanging on by a thread. I feel like I've forgotten how to make friends and confide in anyone but my spouse. COVID really did a number on the world, far beyond the disease itself.

I'm extroverted AF and post-COVID I'm stuck at home a lot. Most of my friends don't go out and I live a bit in the burbs. I don't like drinking and driving and public transport isn't great. I prefer not to spend $100 to get a cab home.

One old friend called me out of blue and we hung out a few times before he gave me a sob story about his finances and I "lent" him $10K which I'm sure I'm never getting back.

I still make an effort to see people but I'm kinda tired. My hands hurt now because I'm on the computer all day for work and afterwards too. I miss doing things outside of work and winter in Ontario doesn't help right now.
