I think the true secret is that a part of those of us that get out stay connected to the reactor and power it with small bits of happiness over the life of the boat.
Every time you're stuck sitting at a table with a bunch of people who have barely started eating while you're done already, or wake up in the middle of the night thinking there's a fire because your AC shut off, the reactor gets a .0001% boost in efficiency.
