Valentine's Day Steak Dinner

Made dinner for my fiancé last night. Sous vide strip steak, roasted brussel sprouts with balsamic reduction, sautéed mushrooms, and baked potato. Really happy with how it all turned out!

Did you cook that steak sous vide?

eodur@piefed.social · 4 pts · 202d

I did! It was a perfect 130F in an hour.

I would do unspeakable things for those brussel sprouts

Thanks! They were really easy. I make them a lot now. Halve them, toss them in olive oil and salt, then roast them on a sheet pan for 30 min at 400F. The balsamic is just whatever balsamic vinegar you like reduced over low heat until its nice an syrupy.

That steak looks perfect. Nailed it.

Personally would do the veggies a little less. They should ideally be browned, rather than black IMHO. Covering for the start can help with that.

Thanks! Most of the black on the veggies is actually the balsamic I tossed it with. In hindsight I should have drizzled it rather than tossing it. Would have looked much better.

I just finished cooking but I’m going to make this next time. Haven’t had Brussels sprouts and mushrooms in too long.

Yummy!
