There hasn't been a real change. No new unplanned hardware is driving the sudden run on components. Yes, data centers, bla bla bla, but that is surface level nonsense. That hardware is slower to respond and the real world timeline does not make sense. There haven't been any major breakthroughs in AI in the last two years, we are in an era of small incremental change along the periphery. Strangling memory, retards the entire market. It makes strategic sense to tank everything until Intel can get their house in order. It fits within the scope of Intel's bailout and possible anecdotes. It is Epstein emails level logic typical of the terminal societal cancer of inherited wealth without meritocratic order. It gives China an enormous chance to catch up at the most critical time in silicon.

did you miss OpenAI making deals with samsung and hynix? openai has cornered something like 40% of the global production. that is why costs are going up. theres a ram shortage because one company decided to buy it all. higher demand, lower supply = higher ram costs

Speculative buying is market manipulation. Purchasing future production will always lead to over scheduling to prevent competition from entering the market and for potential under estimates. This is not legitimate business practice and is criminal exploitation. That lack of regulation is the key point I am making. The lack of abstract independent thought is offensive to me. This is simple logic everyone should have, but this place lacks in mass. All it takes is one stupid initial reply and things avalanche from there. This is not hard. Speculative purchasing is obvious manipulation. The criminal manipulation is the real thing people should be talking about but they are lead around like little halfwit children by spurious headlines and convenient idiots.
