I'm actually surprised it didn't do that in the first place. Especially in scenarios like dating and finances.
I guess trusting the app developer to implement it was their original strategy. But with all the vibe apps and countless security leaks, maybe giving it to apple/Google, who already knows what your butthole looks like, is the best solution in this use case.

My iTunes/Apple account is over 20 years old so nothing will need to be done.
I MUCH prefer Apple/microsoft/Google being the points of authority on age verification than the government.
