If you're afraid the links are going to die, I would upload them to fedinsfw using the "add picture" feature (or just copy paste the pictures in the post body, it will create upload them as media to fedinsfw)
Then use the link to the first image as URL for the post so that the crosspost feature can be used

copy pasting images into the comments is the way, it works easy and predictably, posts a link for each image as you paste it. Thank you!

I'd suggest a bunch of posts. Viewers don't always notice that there's a body to the message.
