Kirishima with the match of the day for me. Great belt control, using those drags, then finishing with the massive throw as Asahifuji made his attack.
Seemed mostly pretty textbook stuff today, not much standing out. Couple notes:
Churanoumi got Kotozakura a little off balance with some strong pressure off the tachiai and was able to keep it up for a bit, but Koto recovered and sent Chura flying after regaining control.
Yoshinofuji got great position and looked strong against Hoshoryu but it wasn't enough to take down the yokozuna. Onosato on the other hand is probably pulling out of this basho at some point soon.
It looked like Hoshoryu may have kicked Yoshinofujis leg out from under him at the same time as getting the headlock. Hard to tell from the camera angle.
Takayasu going to grappling off the tachiai and changing to thrusting with Wakamotoharu on the bales only to recognize the pull down for the win. Nice to see Papa Bear still moving in his element like a goddamn pro after all these years.
ikr when Tayakasu did that speedy shuffle backwards I was like whaaaa.... I had to replay it a couple times.
There was a lot of good movement today, Kotozakura had some good stepping and Hoshoryu and Fujinokawa as well ofc. Possibly bc it's still early in the tourney and everyone's full of energy?
Feelz bad for Onosato... man just needs to recover, if he'd stayed offline since November when he got hurt he'd probably be OK now?

We got such a good view of Kotozakuras sukuinage. Looked amazing!
One-armed Onosato sucks so hard, he should withdraw until he can use both arms.
