In cherry. It's mostly a copy of one my parents have, though they requested replacing three drawers with a swing door and movable shelves.

They're maple plywood with a cherry nosepiece glued on, held on shelf pins set in 1/4" holes drilled in the side stiles. It's actually a pretty simple little cabinet.

Cherry is good. Hardwood, but without the brittle of the higher janka rated woods. It also has that lovely color when oiled. Nice work.
