I'm glad I understood after going through a good amount of schooling and having crap retail jobs that an office job was not right for me. While I believe I missed the mark slightly with construction carpenter. I'm pretty happy with my day to day.
Same here. Started a computer science degree because I liked coding and was good at it. Then I got a job writing some software and realized that if I had to do that all day every day I would jump off a building. Dropped out the same year. Now I'm a refrigeration mechanic and loving it plus making way more money than I would have as an entry level comp sci major.

I know my experience is far from universal but I prefer my job so much over my school.
