I'm really looking forward to seeing what is done with large color eink displays when the technology gets cheap enough to roll out everywhere. With how energy efficient it is, those public message boards will probably pop up in really interesting places. I can see them being used well for self guided city tours.
The eink art gallery idea sounds like it'd work well in homes too if an affordable IoT version can be made.
