So far, the "flag down the arborist when they're already working in your neighborhood" strategy has worked for me.

you can put in a request where im at and the city will dump mulch in your front yard.

We tried to get one last year and didn't after like 3 months. We signed up again a few days ago and have a truckload dumped on our driveway now.

Nice! It took me a couple tries too, but I got one soon after a big storm uprooted a bunch of trees.

So, if you’re like me, I only have trees cut down if they’re dangerous or to avoid them becoming dangerous. This usually means there’s something wrong with the tree and there’s bugs.

I’d recommend not putting this right up against your house, but if you like termites and carpenter ants ….
