Yeah, I spent a lot of time on there over COVID lockdown, I still go back and play paintball occasionally. Not as upset over losing it as Echo Arena, but still sad. Echo was a great game, still miss it
I played Red Room a decent amount when it first came out and hadn't been completely taken over by children, and it was a great time! Apparently I had earned some fancy items, and over the last 8 years I've had like 20 people cold-messaging me on various platforms because I used the same username on Rec Room and they wanted the items.
It's just what they expect everyone would think is a great comment since they themselves probably never enjoyed/experienced the game - thinking it may be silly. They may or may not believe the comment that they posted to be true, in fact they're more than likely indifferent on the game altogether. They just felt the need to contribute something possibly riveting to get a reaction one way or another.
Oh let me be perfectly clear: I give precisely zero fucks what anyoneâs hot takes on my opinions are. Never take criticism from someone you wouldnât take advice from. Pay attention to me or donât. Makes no difference.
Yet your fragile ego wouldnât let you go without announcing you were leaving. Someone of stronger character would have chose to just move along. Like this.
Used it quite a bit actually and found it to be overrun by screaming children and vapid, lonely people. It wasnât anywhere as near as bad as Meta Horizon but still pretty awful. Poor moderation, not enough resources dedicated to making it viable on anything with a processor more powerful than a potato and just not great. We all wanted Ready Player One and we just got a cartoon IRC channel.

Sad news. This was one of my first VR experiences. Paintball game was a lot of fun.

I didn't realize Echo Arena closed. That game was epic. Like you were in Ender's Game.

Same. I spent easily 100 hours just doing paintball. It seemed like they had a cool thing going, sad to see it die.

Sad to see, but extra sad that they made no considerations about releasing their servers

But at least they are building a tool to export the rooms into unity which will be available in a week - that is more than most live service games do

Probably a strategic move due to the rising server costs and the potential age verification requirement.

I actually really liked this game and was hoping to play again when the Steam Frame came out. đ˘

Yeah, it's attention seeking, really. It's not hard to feel a bit sorry for them.
