So many new precedents with this tournament. Will this be the end of the blanket tax exemption deals of old? I can't imagine any serious country agreeing to tax free status for a world cup now that the US has shown that it's unnecessary. Perhaps Saudi Arabia and the likes might still go along with granting large exemptions, but I honestly can't see Brazil or France or other strong and serious football nations doing that now.

I'm baffled at how every FIFA boss just gets increasingly more evil and openly corrupt. Havelange at least seemed interested in football and Blatter at least pretended to be against open corruption. Now it's just open disdain for the game and endorsement for corruption on every level.
