i grew up with a wii and always loved nintendo games, so its a pretty big part of my life despite Nintendo as a company being scum. gotta pick your battles, and my way out is pirating games lol
Glad you all liked it, although I'm personally boycotting Nintendo and wish more would.
They are killing the gaming community with their war against legal emulation. However, they are doing the bare minimum against the American Regime, which is nice.
gotta pick your battles, if I boycotted every company I didn't like I wouldnt have much left to enjoy. i have every good Nintendo game up to the Wii u/3ds downloaded off the internet if that makes up for it lol
I don't think human enjoyment should be dependent upon companies that do bad things to us or our communities. In fact, I reject that idea wholeheartedly. I've had immense enjoyment from just being with my friends, helping my community, or being alone in nature.
If you are in a war, you pick your battles to ensure you have the right strategy to win. You don't pick your battles to enjoy the products your enemy has available for purchase.
fact of the matter is that I like the games Nintendo makes, them being a shitty company doesn't affect my enjoyment. I'm not gonna upend one of the few hobbies I have time for to prove a point
life is too short and I am too sleepy to worry about it past what I can control. i pirate Nintendo games and donate to small devs, past that its not up to me. watching a movie on the big screen with my sister and my girlfriend is worth the money for the memory and the experience
movie reviewers are typically people who watch a lot of movies and try to rank them or whatever
for most people like me we watch like 2 movies in theater a year and the outcome is always "I had fun at the movies", it was a funny film for children and fans of the series and it filled that role great for me as a huge mario galaxy fan
its like walking into a mcdonalds and asking for caviar, like no its not a life changing film but sometimes you just want some chicken nuggets and a hockey puck burger and it filled that role well

Agreed, the importance of spending time with the people you care about should be the focus.

No disrespect if you do have the means/energy to boycott fully BTW, I'm glad people like you are around to make the difference that I can't :)

Was it though? This is the first report I've seen that said anything positive about it.

It wasn't as bad as the reviews made it seem honestly.
Was it amazing? Not at all. But nostalgia with a few chuckles is what I expected, paid for and got.
If you didn't grow up playing Nintendo, I can see how the movie would be kind of sloppy and uneventful. But if you did? Plenty there to enjoy.
