Day 8 - Same song, five years later

Day 8 of working on my album "Murky Mind"

Vocals were the main activity today. The highlight was singing a song I hadn't recorded in five years and realizing my tone for it now is practically identical to what it was back then! I was able to replicate it from memory. If I could only manage to maintain this level of consistency with my tone throughout the album, recording and compiling will be a breeze.

Anyway, I've now sang the whole album, and not a single song will need a key change. That's great news and a big time saver. It means I don't have to transpose the instruments. I guess I knew my limits well enough (though I will admit a couple of small rewrites were needed here and there). That means I can now start practicing the guitar and bass knowing for sure that the parts will not go through any major changes anymore.

I also wrote a couple of new lines for an unfinished bonus track today. Got to sing it loud for the first time ever too. That's always satisfying.

Well... things aren't moving along fast... it's not like this is my full-time job, but they're moving.
