And this is where a quick video review of gondola systems from Wendover is useful.

TLDR is they can work on a cost effectiveness stand point, especially in hilly environs, however they lack an ability to scale passengers up.

On it's face, I'm failing to see the logic of this apart from a tourist view. Surges for events (Mile High, Coors, etc) and the existing infrastructure which could be expanded makes me wonder if there aren't better options.
