I would want to see proof that they never voted for trump and also they should give all their guns to the Black Panthers or to the Black Lives Matter people.

Values tests on citizenship are usually frowned upon.

Voting only works if the results are anonymous. That is why Gerrymandering and FBI intervention into election activities is such a big deal.

Not likely to be solid proof of who voted for who, since that's usually prohibited to prevent vote buying. Though you could certainly scour socials for admissions.

I don't have any issue with this change, but I also think it's kind of notable that there hasn't seemed to be any outrage about it equivalent to what's been seen with other immigration policies that allowed for many new Canadians.

Because they would be mostly white. And the loudest anti immigrants in canada seem to revere the US

There wasn't much outrage when other policies inviting people to Canada were changed.
If the polycrisis continues and there's a clear line between these new citizens and the problems we're facing, I expect there will be outrage.

Does anyone know the steps for this? My wife and kids supposedly qualify (I dont). But I'd really like to have a plan b for them at least.

Havent seen that site in ages lol.
I know about that site. It doesnt cover having a deceased grandparent and how to obtain proof of their citizenship, which I suspect is the case for many, many Americans trying to apply.
