LA 2028 Olympics Swimming & Water Polo Tickets Raise Affordability Concerns - Los Angeles Today

As the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics approach, preliminary ticket sales have opened, revealing steep prices for prime seating at swimming and water polo events. The starting price of $1,116.27 for swimming prelims and $4,961.20 for the closing ceremony has raised eyebrows, suggesting a focus on maximizing revenue from a select group rather than broader accessibility. While water polo tickets are more moderately priced at $248.06, the vast differences in pricing across events highlight a clear segmentation of the audience, with the 'best seats' reserved for those with the deepest pockets. This trend raises concerns about the Olympics becoming increasingly exclusive and accessible only to a wealthy elite, potentially alienating passionate fans.

Unusual swimming form in the thumbnail. AI?

Oh good point. I didn't notice it before.

I would lean towards human, because it's clearly stylised and not meant to be a photo. But it also certainly could possibly be AI.

The swimmers are 100% AI. They could have stylized it after the fact manually.
