Buddhist temple statues minding their own business

Japanese elderly with nothing to do: "I'm going to give all of them knitted hats!"

Even better, you typically see kitsune (fox) statues with a red riding hood cloak of some kind for the same reason.

(I have seen them with little hoods, too, but I can't find any pictures of that. The cloak seems to be more common.)
