Maybe they just have a very short mile, like, the US mile is remarkably short for a mile at only 1.61 kilometres, so maybe shark candy guy is using some other mile that's even shorter.

it's a licorice twist type thing. licorice string? you can peel off the individual strands. they're tasty. depends on your locale i'd think what they're called. not the good licorice unfortunately (by texture) but here it has the better licorice flavors (when you're getting outside licorice itself)
