Interestingly enough, crossbows have much flatter trajectories than bows, even when firing at similar ranges. The arrow will have a greater 'arc' that needs to be adjusted for, while a crossbow will be more 'point-and-shoot'. To a degree, at least! And at a cost - a crossbow bolt usually has a lower maximum range than an arrow loosed from a bow!
