Interislander barely limping along

Maintenance requirements will have the Interislander service reduced to one ship for more than 100 days in 2027, a KiwiRail briefing shows. Between now and when the new Interislander ferries arrive in 2029, the Cook Strait service is expected to run a single-ship schedule for 259 days.
