This is not something out of the goodness of their hearts, this is to minimize net metering contributions by solar panels because the economics have finally flipped for sdge.
Fuck them, but it DOES make sense to make electricity cheaper when generation is high, we should just not fuck with existing decades-long net metering agreements that people depend on. CA has already neutered net metering so much
