Self delusion probably fits better since Stockholm Syndrome is most likely just bullshit code for, "the victim gained empathy for a person's terrible situation"
If I remember correctly, but don't quote me on this one, the OG Stockholmers after whoom the syndrome was named had this thing not so much because they had empathy for the bank robbers, as much as they had disempathy to the police because they were so utterly incompetent at their job
Eh, self delusion to weaken the blow of understanding you're stuck in a system that gas lights you into thinking you're just a temporarily embarrassed capitalist and not cattle is a mental defence mechanism.
There are still people who defend billionaires though, they might have Stockholm syndrome, or could just be really fucking stupid

We read about cult members blindly following their leader and turn around, thinking 'this could never happen to me' . As if we all have not the same psychological weaknesses like they do. As if all media is not constantly feeding us how life should be lived, according to those in power.
Yeah like billionaires, talking heads on FOX News, and the occasional neckbeard libertarian on the internet. But the average person doesn't go around identifying as a capitalist. In fact I'd go so far as to say most people don't even have an ideology.
