I'm just assuming this kind of thing is staged at this point unless he actually ends up catching a bullet in head. Even then, I wouldn't be sure.

this like the 3rd attempt and right wing media doesnt follow up at all, just that the person is the shooter and then forget it about the next day.

Cethin@lemmy.zip · 9 pts · 138d (2 replies)

Not just right wing media. The fucking FBI can't be bothered to look into the supposed shooters. Trump holds a grudge like no other, but he doesn't hold a grudge against someone literally trying to kill him? That seems fishy. I don't fully know what to believe, but I know something isn't right, at least with the scratched ear event.

The FBI can't be bothered? They're prosecuting a bunch of people, and they've already raided this guy's house.

Cethin@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 137d

The shooting with the scratched ear, IIRC, the FBI has refused to look into the shooters background. They killed him, so they can't ask questions, and they refuse to investigate.

We can only hope.

Confused_Emus@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 30 pts · 138d (3 replies)

If it was an actual shooter, why the hell do they keep missing?!

frongt@lemmy.zip · 17 pts · 138d (2 replies)

Protection has gotten better over the years, and the people going postal on the president aren't of sound enough mind to actually develop a plan.

errer@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 138d (1 reply)

They develop concepts of a plan

caurvo@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 138d

Two weeks, we'll have a plan

Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 29 pts · 138d (1 reply)

Convenient.

But will it help his poll numbers.

TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 138d

Last one didn't.

tortina_original@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 138d

Oh, so this is how he is hoping to get better poll numbers, haha. They're like children.

It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.

Trex202@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 138d

Nah, let him think he's paranoid

thagoat@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 11 pts · 138d (1 reply)

Reality TV at its worst from a game show "president"

derry@midwest.social · 4 pts · 138d

Don't forget wrestling

lath@piefed.social · 8 pts · 138d (1 reply)

If they use it as a reason to fuck with elections, we'll know it was staged. Until then though, I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt because they do infact bring out the worst in people.

RichardDegenne@lemmy.zip · 8 pts · 138d

They're gonna use it as a reason to fuck with elections, whether it was staged or not.

celeste@kbin.earth · 5 pts · 137d

My position on conspiracies is that they exist but without evidence there's no reason to believe I'm the magic genius who will figure it out. But, this attempt seems kind of suspicious? Of course, it could just be the result of them only keeping people on the job who are loyal, as opposed to competent (since with this presidency, those two traits can't be aligned). I guess I'm at "we'll find out at some point" again.

SS did their jobs too well again.

HubertManne@piefed.social · 2 pts · 137d

trump makes a good point. Being a massively reviled president is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Heck I could see a caesar brute thing happening.
