Parts disappearing, is this a bug?

I'm following this tutorial and following it exactly. I've made the exact same drawing so far, exact same constraints, and getting the exact same results until now.

At 13:22 he uses the Pad tool to extrude a ring, and then confirms it. The result is that he has basically built a flange with a hole down the middle.

When I confirm the extrusion, everything disappears. It still shows up in the model box, but I can't see or interact with anything in the main window, and I don't get any errors or notifications.

I can keep sketching, but everything I've done up until now is basically gone. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Looks like a bug. If you expand the Pad001 item, is there a body in there that's not visible?

Are you using a stable release version?

Yes, I can expand the Pad001 item and the sketch is still there. If I focus on the sketch item, the sketch appears on the screen and I can modify it, but leaving the sketch mode brings me back to a blank screen.

I'm using the latest version from Flathub.

Make sure you have set the projected circle to "construction geometry".

Newer Freecad versions change the behaviour of projected geometry, so it now always results in regular sketch geometry instead of construction geometry. If your circle now coincides with the projected circle, the pad operation fails and your part disappears.

The only construction geometry is to align the four holes. It's failing after that extruding the ring from the face of the first pad.

I'm going to try some other stuff to see if I can reproduce it elsewhere, but I tried the tutorial two separate times and it failed at the same point both times. And since I don't get an error message at any point, I can't tell what's going wrong.
