By the way, if you’re fine with a little bit of piracy, you can use something called freesm launcher (fork of prism launcher) to play without a Microsoft account. You can’t play on most multiplayer servers, but if you host your own, you can turn off online-mode in the server.properties file, which just skips authentication stuff
For reference, it has built-in methods for searching and installing mod loaders and mods. You can just get neoforge 1.21.1, then install create & aeronatics ;)

That shouldn't stop people who already have it from playing. The old versions are still available and there is a lot of fun to be had with modpacks

So what I meant was "I miss playing Minecraft" but yeah some of the most recent versions just feel like modpacks
