Anthony Albanese rules out gas export tax on existing contracts and criticises ‘populist’ campaign

The funniest thing about this to me is that everyone at my work who is shouting about needing a gas tax was also livid when petrol stations immediately put their prices up the moment Iran was attacked.

Putting a hefty tax on LNG exports in the middle of an ongoing energy crisis would just make us look like profiteering cunts. Yeah we need to tax it, either at any point in the last 20 years (The Liberal party loves to forget that they could have done this at any time when they were in power too) or as soon as global supply stabilises.
