When I hear Australians chime in on posts about American healthcare with: "we have universal healthcare in Australia", I always remind them.

No we fucking don't.

Outside of hospitals, we have a private subsidy model, with a handful of public sprinkled in.

And even within hospitals, we have a two tiered system which prioritises people with private health insurance...

Medicare sucks, for how much wealth we have in this country.
