My first thought was "what kind of disgusting thing were you canning?" But then seeing how the others turned out made me realize it looks that terrible because it broke. The difference is rather shocking.

Canned meat isn't very pleasant to look at even in the best of circumstances. In this case it's literally just chunks of raw turkey crammed into a jar. Nothing added but heat.
