Yes a horrible shot...detail, clarity, foreground clutter to distract the autofocus. Perseverance to get the shot

Great colours on the Mohawk. Looks territorial like my dog. He's puffed up too.

Is it a breeding ritual.

IIRC this little guy was preening himself. Probably in search of a mate. There were quite a few of them, but now all we have are ruby-crowned kinglets, still adorable, but that golden-crown is best.

Migration is starting now. All the cute ones are coming ...plus the fodder.
