Great news, you can now post a picture to https://subversive.pics/ interactively from your favorite internet browser!
You can achieve this by making a picture post inside the fediverse and tagging @subversive_pics (this works with snac, lemmy, mastodon, but not all of its forks, your mileage may vary)
If your picture makes it past the horp censors, your picture will appear on the subversive.pics website and the rss feed!

@prahou @subversive_pics i can't load any of the images from horp, they show up as broken image urls but the rest of images on subversive are loading fine. not sure if it's just me over here

@prahou @subversive_pics it was the direct horp URL, but i realized its working fine for me on all but one browser i use so it's probably something weird on my end

@subversive_pics @prahou i actually can't load anything from horp.sciops.net on there, it says 402 payment required and "just send the money" lol i guess i'm getting blocked as if i were a bot, but only on that browser

user is playing stupid games with User Agent headers. I can verify if someone gives me an IP to look for in the logs

@subversive_pics @prahou @khm ah, so it's a server side intervention. i now can't see images from img.sciops.net either, in my mobile browser or via my RSS reader proxy, whereas i was previously able to. oh well, good thing there are already more than enough other interesting images for "user" to gaze at.

if a user agent has 'bot' 'index' 'spider' or 'brave' in the text, then my server rejects the request with 402 Payment Required
since no real browser defaults include these things, it's a pretty safe protection from some of the background radiation that consitutes the internet environment
