What do ringwraiths even do in the centuries between getting sent out to look for the One Ring? Board game nights? Karaoke? Does Sauron have an XBox?

They should have gone out into the world and set up clubs while they keep an eye out for the ring. Friday night Bingo, knitting circles, thai chi - that sort of thing.
